* 2,851 *

2, 851 miles...yep, that's from door to door...start to finish. Whoa. We had a fabulous time on our road trip. I don't think it could have been any better. The kids were more than good, they were fabulous. I am really proud of them. We enjoyed ourselves so much, that we want to do it again next year. I didn't post any pictures of our last day, so I'll share those. We went touring around downtown Springfield, and visited the Capitol and a few other places...

The Capitol

Emery, hangin' out...

The House

The Senate

The Rotunda, lookin' up...

The Old Capitol...

We also had to reminisce about old times...
Our Aunt Virginia had one of the apartments on the top floor,
and every 4th of July we would watch fireworks from up there!

Trey liked this statue...

We also stopped in the Illinois State Museum, Trey thought it was pretty cool...

Our last night we had fun hangin' out with one of my SFA coaches and her little boy, Jonah. Jonah and Trey had a big time fishing, catching lightning bugs, and roasting marshmallows. The next morning we hit the road! Trey was our navigator, see?

We had to stop in St. Louis...

We made it to Dallas Saturday night after 13 hours of driving. It was a pretty drive, and the kids were great. We had to stop in Oklahoma for Joe to snap this picture...It's not hard to drive when it looks like this...
