Illinois - Day 2

Today we hung out around the house because the weather wasn't fabulous, but that doesn't mean we didn't have a good time! Trey and Emery got to meet their cousins, Elise and Emery. Yes, yes...we have 2 Emery's in the family...and we like it that way! Just a testament to the awesomeness of my grandfather, Emery Greene. Anywho, on to the pictures...I know that is what y'all are waiting for.

The Crew...

Did I mention there are a lot of birds here?

Just a swingin'! She really likes that swing.

They wore each other out!

I have more pictures, but it's takin' too long to get them all in here....you can go over HERE to see them...

We Made It!

Sooooooo, we drove thru the night! AND, we made it in one piece! Trey and Emery were more than fabulous travelers....they were perfect. We left Diamondhead, Mississippi at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, and rolled into Springfield, Illinois at 9 a.m. The drive wasn't too bad, until about 4:30 a.m....it started getting tough. I was begging the sun to hurry up and rise...it would all be okay if the sun would just come up!!! Well, it finally did, and we managed to make it!

I'm pretty sure Trey is going to want us to leave him here....a stocked fishing pond, a tractor, a gator (4-wheeler), lightning bugs....and much, much more. Stay tuned for some more pics...there's lots more on the agenda!

I could wake up to this every morning!

Uncle John is Trey's new best friend...

He was just 'kind of' excited about fishing...

"Hey Uncle Cody...my fish is bigger than your fish!"

Mimi was having withdrawals after almost a week!

Road Trip

Well, we have finally made it somewhere that I can get some Internet! :) We have made it to our second stopping point...Diamondhead, Mississippi. We took off Tuesday morning and headed to Henderson, Texas to see our good friends. We had a great time catching up and letting the kids play. Here are some pictures of our short visit:

Emery helping Mr. Zac cook dinner...

Lil' Ryan and his Mommy...Mrs. Megan

The boys playing with poppers in the drive way...

Miss Mallory and her worm...no, it's not a snake.
The passing of the worm...
Oh yeah, Mallory is 2 years older than Trey...
Check out their size difference, oh wait...there's not one!
This is what Emery thought of the trip from Henderson to New Orleans!

Trey was ready!
He had ALL of his goodies accessible.
Thumbs up recommendation for the $5 garage sale find!
It must have worn him out!
We made a mini-stop to see Mike the Tiger. (LSU Mascot)
Trey couldn't understand where the other animals were.

I must give a shout out to Priceline. Thursday morning,
I got on there and got the Marriott in New Orleans for $60!

Pay close attention to how many bags we had to bring in...
Just fair warning if you road trip with kids.

Trey LOVED the view...we were on the 10th floor.
Facing the river.

This was this morning before we checked out.
Trey loves to wear my sunglasses.

Stay tuned for more pictures! The next time I post will probably be from Illinois.

Sibling Love

We got out this evening to take some pictures of some good friends. I thought I'd snag a few of Trey and Emery too! I couldn't help but laugh at a few of these...it is soooo them. I'm tellin' you when Emery (1) starts walking and (2) starts talking...Trey will have met his match!

Emery, I said, "Give me a kiss. Now!"

Eeeeeeeeeewwwwww. Get away, Trey!

He is such the thinker.

This is about as close as we get to them both looking at the camera!

He's just kinda cute...okay, really cute. I'm kind of partial.

I took these today, as a surprise for daddy. We hijacked his old SFA jersey and got it back in the closet before he knew any better! Trey's comment when we got it on? "Mommy, I just don't think this fits. I need to get bigger." Yes, Trey...but don't 'get bigger' too fast. Okay?

We are gearing up for our road trip today. It's pretty exciting. We will be heading to Henderson, Texas tomorrow to stay with some friends. From Henderson we'll be off to New Orleans for one night, then on to Diamondhead, Mississippi for a wedding. As soon as the wedding is over, we'll be high tailin' it to Memphis to try and get half way to Illinois. Our final destination will be Springfield, Illinois. If y'all know of anywhere we need to stop and see in between, let me know. We're want to make some 'off the beaten path' stops. Hope everybody has a fabulous week, and say a little prayer for our traveling if you get a chance! I'll be posting from the road (hopefully), so stay tuned. And I can't forget to thank our fabulous friend who will be at our house hangin' with the dogs. Lifesaver!

How Cool Is This?

I've been meaning to blog about this, but I keep forgetting. However, when I'm presented with 2 free hours at school...I can remember! :) My friend had mentioned to me about being able to download coupons to your Kroger card? Wait, what? Most of you probably know this, and I'm just a few years behind...but it was news to me. Check this out:

(1) Go to Kroger Online, and click Download Coupons

(2) Click over there on that CellFire Ad, and create yourself an account with your cell phone.

(3) Once you have your account created, you will be directed to the coupon page. You can do this with your Randall's card too! On the coupon page, Randall's will be on the top, and scroll down to find Kroger and other offers. If you don't live in Cypress, CellFire may have added grocery stores around you...so it's still worth checking out. On this page, you click 'Save to Card'...the first time you do this, it will ask you to put in your card number when you click 'Save to Card'.

You're probably asking the question, "What's the big deal?" Well, if you clip coupons but always forget to grab them before you walk out the door (not that I've ever done that)...when you give the cashier your card at check out, the coupons will automatically deduct. ALSO, the rumor on the street is that you can double up. I have not tried this, but a trustworthy friend told me you can use coupons WITH the card to get additional savings. It's definitely worth a shot! I hope this saves someone some money, so enjoy!

* My Favorite Salad *

Okay, so I'm cooking tonight. Put it down in the record books. This time of year, i.e. school letting out, we are notorious for finding something to do every night of the week...therefore, I usually am not cooking. Alright, MOM, I can hear you know...she's laughing, because she would say I never cook. It's not that I don't like it, because I really do, it's just that I get motivated to do something else! Soooo, on to my favorite salad.

Salmon Salad

1 salmon filet/person (however big or small)
Spring mix salad
Pecans
Avocado
Mandarin oranges
Green onion
Ken's Fat Free Raspberry Pecan Dressing (I find it at Kroger, Wally World doesn't carry it)

I put some 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter' on each filet, with some brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, etc....Then, I bake the salmon at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes.

Notice I didn't put many amounts. Each person gets a bowl, and just put the amount of salad 'stuff' that you like in your bowl. Set the salmon filet on top, and drizzle the dressing on top. Soooooo good. It is like eating candy. Joe and I could eat this every night of the week. Plus, it's pretty darn healthy!

I ♥ Faces - Pets-Week 21

Well, it's pet week at I ♥ Faces , and I had to share this picture of the Taylor's pretty puppy that I took. The lake is my all time favorite spot to take pictures!
