Expressions

So, today I finally decided to dust off the camera and get some shots of Trey playing in the backyard. Joe and I would just like to state that we have the coolest kid around, not to mention the most handsome. Take a look. (p.s. Yes, we are the parents that let our kid run around in nothing but a diaper!)

Home from Dallas

Ok, so we need a weekend to recover from our weekend! :) Trey is still recovering, when I was changing his diaper this morning he was begging me to put him back in his "baby bed"...aka: his crib. Back to the weekend...the volleyball tournament, could have gone better, but it was a good experience for the girls. They learned a lot of life lessons on the Dallas Dart train to the Convention Center, the main lesson being stay in school! :) Some of those trips were pretty eye opening, but needless to say we made it there and back in one piece. Joe and Trey enjoyed their time at Grandma and Papa's house. From what I hear, I missed out on some fun times while I was holed up in the gym both afternoons. One night, they took Trey to the marina for dinner, but the main attraction was feeding the giant fish handfuls of dog food. We managed to get home at a decent hour on Sunday, but Joe had to head straight to church. If you were to look upstairs right now, you would see that I didn't have the energy to unpack and tackle the laundry (still haven't worked up that energy!) :)...I guess I better get that going, because in 2 weeks we head out to Nacogdoches for the 2nd "true" SFAVB Alumni reunion. For those outside of the SFAVB realm, that stands for Stephen F. Ausin Volleyball. We have started leaving out the word annual, because we can't stay away from each other long enough for it to be considered annual! :) Here is a pic from one of our past get togethers!

We had our last reunion in December, so of course May is as long as we can go without seeing one another! We hope to be staying at the Rosewood Inn with the Blacks, some of our favorite people in Nac-a-Nowhere. Well, enough rambling for this morning...check back soon for more posts and pics!

Heading to Dallas

The Owens' Fam is heading to Dallas this weekend. Man, getting the 3 of us packed and ready to go is a bit tiring...especially when we are dozing off at 11 p.m. the night before, while trying to finish the laundry that needs to get packed! :) Joe finally took charge at 11, and said GO TO BED! :) I can only imagine what packing for a family of 4 is going to be like. Luckily, Trey's bag is getting smaller and smaller the older he gets! Anyhow, the bags and the car are packed which is a big accomplishment!

I've been sick this past week, and let me tell you that being 6 months prego and having a severe cold is no bueno! I'm already snoring because of Emery, so just add not being able to breathe out of my nose! :) Poor Joe...I went to the Dr. yesterday for a check up and he asked me how I was doing...My response was, if you would just chop of my head, I would be feeling fine! :) I had to have a little chat with my OB/GYN. He informed me that he would be moving to Fort Worth, and his last day in the office would be JUNE 30. Ladies, you know that the relationship with your OB, is like that of a marriage...so breaking up is hard to do...especially when I will only have one month to go when he leaves! He is a great Dr., so anyone in the Fort Worth area, you can look up Dr. McGuirk in a few months. Joe and I took to him really well because he is such a smart ass. He told me his replacement was going to be as much of a smart ass, and I let him know that is going to be a problem! :) Anyway, I'm over the disappointment and am looking forward to meeting his replacement.

So, why are we going to Dallas? I am coaching my club volleyball team at the LoneStar Classic in Dallas. This our last tournament of the club season, can I get a hallelujah? :) I expect them to do well, so check back for an update to make sure I survive the weekend. Joe and Trey are going to stay and Grandma and Papa's in Wylie. Trey was ready to drive to Dallas this morning when he woke up, but I'm sure he forgot all about it when he got to Grammy's (his babysitter). You know it's a great feeling, when your child loves his babysitter so much that he doesn't even want to come home most days. It makes my day at work so much less stressful, knowing that he is in good hands.

I'm glad Joe gets to get out of town this weekend. He starts Spring Football next weekend, which is a big undertaking. This will be his last little get-away before school is out. P.S. Only 4/5 more weeks of school!!! :) Ok, so this post is a little random, but that's about how our life works! :) Hopefully, I'll get to take some pics this weekend and get them posted soon. Have a good weekend!

Inaugural Post...

Well, here goes! The Owens' first blog, EVER! The first thing on our mind is that there are only 6 weeks of school left! :) The other thing, which is a constant, is Mister Trey...AKA Trey-nado! Trey turned 2 in January. Yes, we know he looks like a 3 or 4 year old, thank you! His new favorite toy is his 4 wheeler that mommy got for a bargain on Craigslist (fabulous!). Check him out... How is it that little boys can get on a 4-wheeler, and just know how to drive? Trey LOVES his new toy to say the least. Joe and I are shopping around some patio furniture, b/c it seems that we will be spending lots of time outside this spring/summer!

Now on to the big news of the spring. In late July/early August, the Owens Crew will gain a new member. Drum roll please...Miss Emery Rae Owens should join us, no later than the first week of August. Now, any of you that know anything about football coaches, know that is the first week of 2-a-days. Any sooner than August 5, would mean Joe will be high-tailing it back from Coaching School in San Antonio. Should make for an interesting arrival for Emery! Now, be careful when you ask Trey about Emery coming, you might have to ask him when Baby Shrek will be here...he will understand that better. From the first ultrasound, Trey has figured out that mom has a Baby Shrek in her belly!!! No baby girl, No baby boy...just Baby Shrek!

Ok, I have dozed off twice since I started this post, so I guess that means Emery and I are ready for bed now. We had a long day at our volleyball tournament. Note to self, 10 hours in a gym at 6 months pregnant, is not all that fun. The only thing that made it worth it was that my team made it to the quarter finals in the gold bracket. I was proud, tired but proud! Well, off to bed...Check back soon! P.S. Here's a few more pics of the cutest 2 year old ever...
