This & That...

Ready for some randomness? Here goes nothin'!

Let's see...we have been busy with our general schedules. Joe in basketball, games on Tuesday and Friday. The end of February cannot get here soon enough, so that he is d.o.n.e. for the year! Woo hoo!

Trey is doing fabulously at school. So proud of him. We got his ultrasound results back on his lymph nodes, and everything was within range. Praise GOD! He is funny as ever, and keeps me on my toes at all times. How's this one for you...this is mother of the year material. {I can't believe I'm typing this, but it is a story I want to remember.} On Monday, I saw Trey coming out of our bathroom with a thermometer from Emery's room. "Trey, what were you doing?" Trey says, "I was taking my temperature!" Me: "Trey, please tell me you didn't put that thermometer in your mouth..." Trey: "No mommy, I didn't"....It was at that point in the conversation, that I realized HOW he had taken his temperature. Yeah. He did. I told you, MOTHER. OF. THE. YEAR. I didn't even put that one on Facebook.

Here's Trey on dress up day at school. I turned over all rights for dress up to Bleah, at Grammie's.

He's special. I know.

Last week, I finally got a new vacuum. It's amazing how that can jump start the desire to clean your house. We got a Eureka, and I love it.

I think I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago, my friend Sheila and I, shot our first wedding. Here's the proof...and the only one I've shared thus far. Shhh.

Is it time for Spring Break yet? How about Summer? *sigh* Joe and I got to spend Wednesday together, not working, and while we were running around we were talking about how nice it was and we're ready for a break! This summer we plan on heading back up to Illinois, via the car. Maybe some new stops along the way. We're also going to head to our annual marriage retreat in Kerrville. Coaches/Coaches Wives...you MUST go. It is the best thing that we do for ourselves all year. You do not have to have a bible study going on at your school to attend, so don't let that scare you away. Just keep checking their site this month for registration info. and get it in on time, they fill up FAST. Do it.

Oh man, I almost forgot about Miss Emery. The girl is hilarious. She has her daddy wrapped around her finger. She is cutting 4 teeth at the same time. Overachiever. She eats like a 10 year old boy. There's not much she doesn't like. She is starting to tell Trey when he ticks her off. It's pretty funny. She loves to give kisses. Needs her sleep. Laid back. She sucks her thumb and carries her night night, just like her brother. I thought I was going to have two polar opposite kids, but it looks like they are going to be JUST alike. Oh, goodness.

How's that for random?

Have a great weekend!!!

Little Boy?

Where did my little boy go? Trey's birthday was on Monday, and I think we're still recovering. We were in Dallas this past weekend, for me to shoot my first wedding {stay tuned for pictures}, and Trey got to have a little birthday get together with his cousins. It was perfect. They went to McDonald's and then to see Alvin & The Chipmunks. On Monday, I was that mom, that was at the grocery store getting him a cake on the day of his birthday. Shame on me. We won't talk about the first one I picked up, and ended up dropping it off in the freezer in the same store...and going to Wally World to pick up an ice cream cake. Apparently, the decorator didn't hear me say 'Happy Birthday Trey'...so she slapped 'TREY' really big on the cake, and that was it. It probably belonged on Cake Wrecks, no lie. Moving on...here are some pictures of our little get together at home. {p.s. We are holding out as long as possible on having any big birthday parties. We figure we have enough of those in our future.}

OH! Before we go to the pictures...we have been telling Trey that when he turns 4, he HAS to give up his night night. It is one of his burp cloths from birth that he has had. He clung to one specific one, and the poor thing is shredded beyond repair, but he LOVES his favorite night night. We are going on 4 days of no night night, and all is well!! It is in his baby book, and he is okay with that. He has only asked to see it once, but I diverted him. S-a-weet!

Lovin' on his Mimi...

Can't leave Miss Piggie out...
Y'all, she probably could eat her weight in whatever you put in front of her.

I am not kidding!

Most of the birthday festivities are out of the way in our house. Except for someone else, who shall remain nameless, is turning 30 in the near future. No one you know. Nope.

Finally, we had Trey's follow up with the ENT yesterday. You might remember this frantic post, from me. The Dr. definitely thinks the lymph nodes have gotten smaller since the last check up, which is great news. In order for us all to sleep better, and to ensure no further need for check ups, we are going to do an ultrasound of the lymph nodes under his neck. The doc said, if he was going to ignore them and not check them again, he wanted to make double dog sure that it was nothing. I am okay with that. We would definitely appreciate any prayers sent to make 'double dog sure' that it is nothing and that Trey is healthy.

The Big 3-0!

Joe is 30 today! I have only 28 days to give him heck about it, and I plan to do so. ;) Joe and I got to get away for an evening and venture out of our 10 mile radius together. We had a nice evening in Clear Lake, and yes we lounged in our pajamas and watched the Tech game in our hotel. We are that couple, and we like it. :)

{Don't even get me started on how Mike Leach is getting yanked around by Texas Tech, Team Owens' is on Team Leach and plan to stay on it! I will devote an entire post/novel if you need me to give reasons.}

I was going to write 30 great things about Joe, when I remembered this post from last year. I guess I should add one thing...hmmm.

30. He is my partner in everything we do. 50 pounds, here we come!

Happy Birthday Joe! We love you!

Oh, Goodness!

2 weeks, without one little post?! Holy cow, well I do actually have pictures, but they're already on Facebook, so you can go here and here to see some! Yes, I am that lazy. If you're not my friend on Facebook, you might just have to become one to see them. What have we been up to?

Let's see.

School let out on the 18th, I think. Grandma & Papa came for a weekend to hang out. We had a great time. Took them for their first trip to Washington on the Brazos State Park. Great little day trip when the weather is nice. Did I mention that most of it is free, unless you want to take a tour. We have yet to take the tour. Grandma & Papa headed back home to Plano, and I had to kick it into high gear to get all of the Christmas shopping done! Mission accomplished, by the 23rd I think. I do best in the final moments! :) Anyway, we had some great family time, visited with friends, went to church for Christmas Eve, and had a fabulous Christmas morning together here at home. That afternoon, we loaded up the car for a quick trip to Plano. Christmas afternoon/evening was spent with Grandma & Papa, and some to-die-for Prime Rib. Saturday was the main reason for our visit. All of Papa's side of the family was coming to Grandma & Papa's house for a little reunion of sorts. I think the final count was 42! We had a great time meeting some new family members and getting to know some of the older ones that we haven't spent much time with. We had a great time and were glad we could be a part of that! As if, Grandma hadn't had enough fun that day hosting the party, she was up for a little babysitting so Joe and I could go visit friends. I hadn't laughed that hard in a LONG time. We had a few drinks and played Battle of the Sexes...in which case, we discovered we married some girly men...they kicked our butts!!!

That brings us thru this past weekend, and now we are at home and waging a war with our laundry room. If you need me, I'll be buried in there for the next day or so. I know, I know, there are no pictures in this post...however, I feel some blog makeover therapy in my near future, so maybe there will be a new look!

Happy New Year! {Just in case, I don't get a post in before this weekend!}

Stole The Show!

Trey, Trey, Trey. What a ham.

My mom {aka...Mimi}, had mentioned that she was going to take Trey with her and Uncle Cody to the Texas Opry, where Cody's been singing for years & years. Sure thing Mimi! Uncle Cody mentioned to me that he would be singing "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer"...I thought to myself...hmmm. Trey's favorite song these days. Me, to Trey: "Hey Trey, you might be able to do your dance while Cody's singing...would you want to get up on stage?" Trey responds: "YEA!" Uh oh. He really wants to. Well, you can see by the pictures that he rocked it. He stole the show, and loved every minute of it. I missed it. Boo. So thankful that Mrs. Coxe had her camera to get a few pictures!

Moving on...4 and 1/2 more days of school, and then I have to finish getting ready for the holidays! The tree is up...and decorated. The hard part is over in my opinion! Well, stay tuned and I may put up some pictures of our tree, that is about one inch from hitting the ceiling!

Joe is Back.

We have survived another football season. A great season, if I do say so myself. The boys exceeded everybody's expectations, and did it with class and great sportsmanship. Last night's loss was to a great team, the Stony Point Tigers. They showed up to play, and the stars were all aligned for them. Everything that needed to go right, did. Not so much for the case for our Wildcats tonight. I thought it was going to be a close game with the Wildcats coming out and getting on the scoreboard in the first two minutes of the game. That was the highlight of our night...after that, it was the Stony Point show. Hats off to them, and they may just take it all the way. The loss is a little bittersweet...would have like to witnessed the Cats go all the way, but glad to have Joe back on a normal schedule!

Here's an iphone pic from last night...not the best, but it shows you one of the best thing about Cy Woods. Praying is the thing to do.

This is what they do every time they take the field. Along with pregame and post game. Isn't that the way it should be!?!

Moving on. I keep saying I haven't been bitten by the Christmas bug yet. Our tree isn't up (that's a whole 'nother story), not much shopping done, and decorations still in the attic. I'm hoping some of that changes this evening, but we shall see. I think there are a few factors playing into my mellow mood. First one being the photography...I've been making sure I have everyone's pictures done and orders in that I haven't taken the time to make sure our lives are in order. :) Second, being that we're not used to playing in December! I like that second one though, I can get used to it.

My goal this week is to get ready for Christmas, along with focusing on our family. Taking pictures of Trey and Emery and getting them in the spirit too. My BFF, Ryan, passed along this AWESOME SITE, for those of you with little ones or grandkids. You should see Trey when he watches his video. So stinkin' cute.

I guess if I want to get my tree up, I better get moving. Hope everyone has a great week, and maybe {just maybe} you'll see pictures of my decorations soon.
