Meet my Nana.
Nana is my dad's mom. The time is drawing near when we will have to say goodbye to my last grandparent. In my opinion, having grandparents is one of life's little gifts. They spoil you rotten, they share their history with you, you look up to them beyond measure, and hope that you will live life in a way to honor them. Please say a prayer for Nana. Her body is growing tired and starting to let go. Long story short, she had been ICU downtown this past weekend, and the doctor has advised us to just let her let go. No more medicine. I pray to God that she just falls asleep and is joined by some great men in her life. My Papa, my dad, and her brother Don are all waiting for her. I know that will be one of the happiest moments in her life. However, we will miss her here. Her deepest desire in the last few months, is to go home. I can't wait for her to finally be Home and to be happy.I find myself listening to old Gospel hymns when I think of my grandparents. That is something that reminds me of them and makes me feel close to them. Here is a little chunk out of one of her favorite songs: (It's also now playing on my music, along with some others...)

I'm so sorry to hear about your Nana - its such a tough time going through the loss of a loved one. I lost my Nana last summer - she lived up in Toronto and we just missed her by a few hours - she passed away the same day I flew up there to introduce her to her new great-granddaughter, Brooklynn. Its a comfort to know they are in a better place with loved ones who have passed before them - and the memories we have with them here are something that we will always have dear to us. :)
