Busy, Busy!

Picture Post! Beware! I figured it'd been a while since you had seen some pictures of Em & Trey. The last 2 weekends have been great, we're just getting ready for summer...seriously, it can't come fast enough. It seems as though the year flew by, and now the last couple of weeks are going soooo slooooow. We'll make it...just 3 more days! Anyway, pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Last weekend: Small Group Crawfish Boil at the Baumbouree's. Sooo much fun!

The main dish. Sooooo gooooood.

Trey gettin' the riot act for
not wanting to swim.
Instead, he'll just be a goofball...

Oh wait, this was his idea of swimming.
Until he broke the goggles.
This is where Em hung out.
Don't mind that she's in the garage.
It was the coolest spot outside!

This Weekend: Today to be exact. Trey was still deathly afraid of the pool. He had a death grip around my neck. Let's pretend that I didn't have to bribe him with chocolate ice cream to get him to let Dee Dee work on his swimming. It worked. He's not scared anymore. Hallelujah!

We love the Toypedo! In the Walmart Pool Toy Section! Dee Dee workin' her magic!

I guess we'll keep him.
He's kind-a cute.

Splashin'!

Wheeee!

I don't see what's so fancy
about this water gun?

Okay, I'm off to go fold some laundry...seeing as how it took me FOREVER to upload these pictures. Did I mention that there are only 3 days left of school. Oh, and that my baby is 10 months old? Crazy!
P.S. Daddy took all of today's pictures...he did pretty good, don't ya think?!

Big Deal

So, they're making a big deal about a Maryland girl going her entire school career without missing a day. See. Perfect school attendance for 13 years. One of the front stories on Yahoo! today too. I first saw the story, and just chuckled. I thought to myself, "Oh, Joe's not going to believe this!" Almost 11 years after the fact, that my husband did this. Joe went 13 years of school and never missed a day. He can even top that....he got hit by a car one evening, got his cast at the ER, AND STILL MADE IT TO SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY. Crazy!

It's a pretty big deal, I guess...seeing as how, I'm pretty sure I got a letter in the mail my senior year threatening me that I might EA (short for excessive absences in the school world)...

That's okay Joe. I'm announcing your accomplishment to the Blog World. So much more important than the Washington Post, MSNBC, and Yahoo. Sheesh.

Hey, Joe...I made something for you. It's so much better than national recognition...See?

We'll Be Using Cash, Thank You.

Okay, we're going back to the day where you cashed your pay check and that's that. Okay, well maybe not that drastic, since they won't let me do that. However, after this story, I think you'll join me in my thoughts.

When I started my photography stuff, I opened myself a LITTLE (let me reiterate little) account to use for small things. Well Saturday morning, I went by the bank to check that little account. To my dismay, the account was overdrawn by hundreds of dollars. Ouch. I might understand that if I had gone on a shopping spree, however I hadn't used my card in OVER a week! Seriously. I ran, no really I ran, into the bank and had them print me a statement. Yep, overdrawn. The guilty purchase? Target - $300+. Dang, wonder what they bought! After a little more investigating, I discovered the Target was almost to Richmond, Texas....outside of my little 10 mile Cypress radius. I definitely wasn't there on Tuesday. The bank advised me to go home and dispatch a sheriff to come out and file a police report. Once I had the report, I was to bring it back to the bank. The officer that showed up, is a whole 'nother story...remind me to tell y'all that one...it's pretty comical. Anyhow, I grilled him with questions because I didn't understand how someone (I have other names for them), walked into a Target and made a purchase without having MY card. I've had MY card the WHOLE time. Here's how it works. Write this down. Okay, maybe don't write it, but remember it!

Step one: You hand over your card at a restaurant or fast food place. The card disappears from your sight for 2 minutes (if that).

Step two: The criminal (that's what they are!) has a card reader under their apron or under a table somewhere and they slip your card in and out of there before they swipe it to pay. That card reader works wonders and grabs your information.

Step three: They (the criminal) pass off the card reader for someone to take home and hook up to the computer. The computer reads it, just as you had input all of your information.

Step four: They can put that information on to a blank card (when I say blank, I'm thinking they can use any old card that's been cancelled, etc)...then walk into any store that doesn't ID, swipe the card and hit credit. Even though they hit credit, because this is my debit card, it's tied to my bank account....ouch. Done. They did it. There you have it.

This can happen anywhere that you might pass your card off for 30 seconds to have them go swipe your card, and the card is out of your sight. Don't come looking in my freezer, you might start finding wads of money. Forget these cards. No thank you.

Tonsils

Does this look like a kid with tonsillitis? Well, maybe if he opened his mouth. Trey has had tonsillitis probably 3 times the last couple of months. I foresee a tonsil-less Trey in the next couple of years...I'm just saying. Oh yeah, and look in his ears...he has a double ear infection. That's an outer ear infection, and now an inner ear infection in the last month. I thought we had dodged the ear infections, because he'd only had 1 in the first 3 years...only time will tell. In the meantime, Trey is still his silly-self. Evidence below...

And Emery? She loves her big brother, and wants him to feel better.

Great Weekend!

*BEWARE: Massive Picture Post*
Don't say I didn't warn you!

Have I ever mentioned that I {HEART} these girls? Growing up I was on a lot of teams, but none like this one. Ahhh, the sister's I've never had. We got together this weekend in Dallas, for SB's wedding. SB you ask? Well, don't ask...she'd hurt me if I told you what it stood for, seeing as how she works in PR. Here are a few pics from the wedding.

{SO happy}

{The dress was AMAZING}

{SFAVB Wedding Tradition}
I could tell you, but then we'd have to hurt you. j/k.

{Yes, that is Joe with hair!}
He'll shave it as soon as those TAKS results come in.
They can't come fast enough. We miss his bald head.

We also got to hang out with Trey's girlfriend Friday morning...are they not ridiculously cute?

{Serious conversation folks.}

{Hand over your money}
She's learnin' early...'atta girl Maddie!

{Kisses!}

Saturday morning we had a great time 'showering' Baby Tolar. It was the end of a great reunion for the SFAVB Family. I already miss everyone. I also have to send out a massive thank you to Grandma & Papa for babysitting...thank you, thank you, thank you! Here are some pictures from the shower...

{Only for the nose, Erika!}

{Marcus is getting his practice time in}

*Whew, that was time consuming...I think I'll get some work done now.*

Heavy Heart *update*

*NEWS*
Miss Lili arrived weighing 7 lbs. 14 oz. and 21 inches long. She was taken back for an EKG, and I'm still waiting to hear results. I hear she's beautiful, and can't wait to see pictures.

*ADD ANOTHER TO YOUR PRAYER LIST*
Layla Grace needs our prayers too. She is a beautiful little girl that has Stage 4, neuroblastoma. To read her story, will break your heart. Please keep this family in your prayers.

*ORIGINAL POST*
We should all hug our kids a little tighter today. So many 'not-fairs' happening this week. Not to me, but to others around me...some I know, some I don't. However, they are all weighing on my heart and I wish I could do something to relieve their stress, their fear, and their grief.

First off, so many of us bloggers have been following sweet, sweet Kayleigh. Kayleigh is now tube free, pain free, and forever peaceful. Please say a prayer for her parents and brother and sister. I can't even begin to scratch the surface of what that grief would feel like.

Secondly, my best friend in the whole world, Ryan is delivering Miss Lili today. She went for her 38 week check up today, and Lili is trying to throw us all for a loop. They heard a funky heart beat yesterday, and the Peri-Cardiologist said it is fetal tachycardia. I think the good news is that it wasn't there last week, so HOPEFULLY it is just Lili's way of saying, "Get me out of here!" Please say a prayer that Lili's little heart will return to it's normal beat, and that Ryan will remain healthy and calm. I know I would be a nervous wreck.

Thirdly, another real-life friend and fellow blogger, Missy is having her baby today was supposed to go in this morning to be induced, but they are now in a holding pattern as it is a full moon and L&D is full. The Owens' Crew knows all to well that frustration. Anyhow, Miss Ellison is petite so the doctors are keeping an eye on that, as well as Missy's fluid levels. We are praying for Ellison to arrive healthy, and for mommy and daddy's patience!

Another prayer request is for our dear friend Steve Brewer. He has been in the hospital now, going on 3 weeks. He had double by pass surgery almost 2 weeks ago and although he is feeling better, there has been a pesky little infection in the wound. Thank God that it is not staph, but none-the-less, he is ready to get home and further down the road to recovery!

That's all for now, I am going to try and go focus on some work, but that seems highly unlikely.

I ♥ Faces - Laughter

Man, it's been a while! With the launch of some 'real' photography, I just couldn't keep up! However, with laughter as the theme for I ♥ Faces this week...I couldn't resist! This is Emery and Trey, ALL of the time! They are so much fun to watch together, and I can't wait until she starts giving him a run for his money. Trey LOVES his little sister so much, we are truly blessed.

Go check out I ♥ Faces for some more great pictures!

Good Friends...Good Music...Good Times!

Tonight we headed to Santa Fe Flats to listen to an old friend play some awesome music on the patio. There's nothing like listening to some good 'ole James Taylor, hang out with good friends, and eat Mexican food! We had a great time, and we topped it all off by coming home and watching Grey's. Can we say *tear jerker*? Anyway, here are some random shots.

Boys and their toys!
Ok, this one is random...but,
check out that hair!

I know, I know...it's blurry.
However, she's too stinkin' cute!

I don't even know what to say
about this one. He's silly!
Awesome music!
We are heading to the lake tomorrow after school. I'm so excited, I can't stand it! There will be TONS of pictures to share, I'm sure. I'm going to leave you with a Trey-ism...

Me: walking home from the park yesterday...left sidewalk to walk around a car.
Trey: pushing Emery in the stroller on the sidewalk. "Mommy, you need to get back up on the sidewalk, my friend!"
Me: "My friend?"
Yea. He said it.

Uneventful Week

We haven't been up to much this week. Granted, it's only Tuesday! We won't mention that Joe and I have secretly had our fingers crossed for a case of the swine flu in our respective campuses. What? A two-week paid vacation? Noooo, we'd never wish for that. Nope.

I did this today. I'm super a little excited about it. I have a {dot}com, who'd a thunk it?

Feel free to spread the news! P.S. I'm down for traveling! Remember the road trip? If you're along the way and want some pictures, I'm definitely game for that!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week thus far...and don't forget to have your fajitas and ritas tonight for Cinco de Mayo!
